Description
One of the most beloved icons in the Russian Orthodox tradition, the Tikhvin icon is believed to have been originally painted by St. Luke the Evangelist and miraculously appeared in the town of Tikhvin in the 14th century. This beautifully detailed version, handcrafted by Fr. Donat, depicts the Theotokos holding the Christ Child, who raises His right hand in blessing while holding a scroll in His left. It is a powerful symbol of intercession, guidance, and divine comfort.
